Air tubs blow warm air to prevent the water from cooling during use. There are no heaters for air tubs, only the whirlpool tubs. Thank you, 1-800-442-1902 options 1, 1 & 1

Our maintenance heaters are 1500 watts. They must be plugged into a separate dedicated 15 amp GFCI protected outlet. Thank you.

  • Q:

Hello, this is what my contractor needs to know: It is tight at 32 inches so we have to make sure that we do not go over that hence we should order the skirt for it has supportive qualities and will not have to build a front structure for support which could encroach Please verify this when you order Reading thru the specs it had confirmed this but need to make sure for some do not support outer edge I am not finding any info beyond this on the website.

Can you please check on what he is talking about? It appears the skirt we need is AS9261.019 (white) Could you confirm that this is the correct part? Thank you.

      A:

The "skirts" or any other deck rim feature on our acrylic tub models should never be used for structural support. All support is from the bottom of the tub. Please refer to our online manuals for correct installation of this tub.

  • Q:

The air bath info tells of a heater in addition to the motor for the blower. We have found that it does not add heat to the circulation of the water, indeed with warm water in the tub the air bubbles often shoot cold water into the tub. What has to happen for the heater to work?

      A:

      Hello,

What you are noticing is common to all air baths. The air is heated before being pumped into the bath, but two things happen that make it feel cool. First, the air bubbles have a lot of surface area, and lose a lot of their heat to the water, so that by the time they touch your skin they have cooled off somewhat. Second, your skin is wet so even though the air is actually warm, it feels cold when it touches you.

You can feel this principal in action with the following experiment. First, wet your hand and then blow a hair dryer on it. Even though the air is warm, it will feel cool against your wet skin.

If you want to check and see that your air blower is working properly, try this if your installer provided an access panel for servicing the air blower. Make sure your tub is empty. then open the access panel, loosen the clamp holding the air hose to the manifold, and remove the hose from the manifold. This is simply a flexible hose like a vacuum hose. Now if you operate the air blower you can feel the air blowing out of this hose. This air should be warm, and it is the same air that will blow into your tub.

  • Q:

We are having an American Standard Air Bath installed (Model 2422 068C.020). I like to use bubble bath. Will the use of bubble bath adversely affect the tub? Thank you

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

      Hi Rich,

One of the best things about American Standard air baths is that it is perfectly save to use bubble bath, as well as bath oils and salts. Since the Air baths only circulate air, not water, there is no risk of damage.
