Comments about American Standard ACRYLUX 38" x 38" Neo-Angle Shower Kit:

Bought this because we loved the AS products we installed when we remodeled our other bath. Buying this was a mistake. The base is perfectly level, but water runs past weep holes on the base into the wall. We installed this in late April and we already have had to remove the baseboard that was soaked with water. Thank goodness we put in a separate tub. I am saving to replace this unit. We are very disappointed with what has turned out to be an expensive decoration. We can not use this and replacing it is going to mean redoing the walls again. We love all of the other fixtures

Comments about American Standard ACRYLUX 38" x 38" Neo-Angle Shower Kit:

The built in ledge is not wide enough to hold most round shampoo bottles and when you put your soap on it , it just slides off. Need somewhere to hang your wash cloth.

how does the door swing? in or out? are hinges on left or right as you are standing outside of the shower?

      1 answer

From the looks of the picture it appears that you will put the door out towards you and the hinges would be on the left side facing the unit.

where should the shower head and valve/control be mounted? on the shower wall or above it? on the left or right wall?
Asked on 2/20/2012 by Jill from Chicago, IL

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

You can mount the showerhead wherever you would like. Some people put it above the unit and some actually mount it on either side of the walls. It is strictly a personal preference.

38" is the overall length along the walls from the corner to the ends. once the walls have been install, the finished dimensions are somewhat smaller.

    • Q:

Are the base and the walls 2 seperate pieces, and if so, what kind of sealing is required
      Asked on 11/28/2011 by Anonymous

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

When installed on an American Standard Shower Base, your American Standard
Shower Wall is designed to function properly without being caulked. However, if you
prefer the appearance of caulked joints, all seams must be caulked.
        • Caulk must be applied around holes for the faucet, diverter valve and shower head.
        • If your American Standard Shower Walls are used on a shower base other than an
American Standard base, it will be necessary to caulk all seams.
        • If a shower door is installed, it will require caulking between the base, the walls and
        the door.
        • When caulking is required, always use a good grade silicone caulk for best results.
