    Since the rope twist surround requires caulking tell me what kind to use. We have used several different kinds around the seams and nothing so far has stayed.

      Hi Dave,

      All of our bath walls require a 60" wide opening. I believe you'll have to adjust your opening to 60" in order to use our bath walls.

    If you already have a clean sheet rocked wall can you use the 5030 rope twist surround made for direct stud mounting with out problems?

      A:

      Hi Tom,

      The Rope Twist wall set requires an OPENING size of 60"x32" to be installed correctly. If the opening is not 60" wide then the back wall will not fit, and if its less than 32" deep then the side walls will stick out.

      If the rough opening was slightly oversized, so that once you put up the sheetrock the opening is 60"x32", then yes, you can install the Rope Twist tub and wall surround over the sheetrock. You can apply adhesive between the sheetrock and Rope Twist walls (consider using a notched trowel for an even coating), and then nail or screw through the nailing flanges.
