    I ordered the Williamsburg 24" Towel Bar in "Satin with extra Polished Chrome accents" (AL-WLB24-19) from Home Depot recently. However, what I received has different installation documents (a lot less steps) and it looks a bit different than what I already have in my house. There are no "extra" accents that I can switch out - the Index Buttons and chrome on the escutcheons are not included as separate, but are instead now attached permanently. So, now these won't exactly match the ones I already have in my house.

    Was there a design change of some sort to this Model?

      The towel bar ends should be snug against the finished wall. The bar may have some movement to it while resting in the slots. The amount of movement will generally be determined by the distance between the towel bar ends.
