        bought 2 for bathrooms. Bathroom remodel. 1 was flush and the other I had to use 1/2 a tube of caulk because it was not molded flush. They said 1/16 of variance is acceptable. Looks like poor workmanship and I will replace when time allows...

          We are in Japan, and our American sink broke about 6 months ago. We were afraid that we wouldn't be able to find a replacement for our sink because Japan doesn't sell American sinks, but after looking at Plumbers Surplus, we found what we were looking for which was even better than the one that we had here! [...]It was really easy to install and would highly recommend this product to anyone!

            The drain outlet on the underside of the basin is slightly oval in shape and the gasket for the drain pipe leaks. How can I fix this without replacing the basin since it's already glued in place?

            • A:

              After a bit of trial and error, I found that plumber's putty does not work. The trick is to find a drain that has a conical shaped gasket that will wedge into the not so round hole. The flat gaskets don't work.

              There is allowance of approximately 1/16". This can be concealed by applying a bead of caulk around the rim of the lavatory.

              A:

              For day-to-day cleaning, wash with warm water, a soft cloth, and a mild detergent. On stubborn stains, use one of the powdered detergents such as Spic & Span, on a damp sponge or scouring pad of nylon, saran, or polyethylene. Never use abrasive scouring powders, cleansers, or pads as they tend to create microgrooves that dull the finish and allow dirt to work into the surface.
