Comments about American Standard Morning Above Counter Sink:

I didn't want to redo my entire bathroom and replacing the vanities would have required changes to the flooring and existing large wall mirror. However, my older vanities are lower than those available now, and the cultured marble tops and sinks were really ugly, so I decided to change the tops to granite and install new sinks. In order to add height, I decided to use a vessel sink but I didn't want anything unstable that my elderly mother couldn't lean on. This sink is partially above and partially below the counter so it's extremely stable. Also, it has a small deck for the faucet, so it isn't necessary to purchase a special tall faucet. The design is both contemporary and reminiscent of an old fashioned wash bowl, so it looks great in my shabby chic bath. With the addition of new doors on the old vanities and a frame on my existing mirror, my bath looks like I did a complete remodel. The only reason I recommended it for a half bath is that the sink is too small for hair-washing and hand laundry. However, I am successfully using them in my master because I don't use my sinks for anything other than hand washing and brushing teeth. Not only is this sink adequate for those uses, but it's lots of fun to use.

I ordered the sinks without overflow because the overflow on these sinks is unsightly. It's a round hole more than in inch in diameter, on the front of the sink. Not only is it unsightly, but it would be very easy to drop things into it. None of the pictures of this sink show the overflow and I was quite surprised when I saw the actual sink with the overflow.

  • Q:

What model of toilet do you recommend to coordinate with this sink?
We would prefer right height, elongated bowl with seat that lowers automatically.

      A:

The choice of toilets is purely a preference based choice. There are many options to consider that are Right Height. As for automatic seats, if you are referring to the slow close feature, this would depend on the type of toilet chosen.

The faucet that you are referring to was the Amarilis pantry/bar sink faucet 7191 which is now discontinued. We do not currently offer a faucet in this style.
