This tub is a great value for the money & guaranteed to last. The finish cleans up easily & the shine stays even with well water. This is the tub to get to replace your old dull cast iron tub!

  • Q:

Hi, I noticed that this acrylux collection tubs are not labelled as ADA compliant. Are they? and what's the difference between ADA compliant tubs and non-compliant ones?
    Asked on 4/8/2012 by Anonymous

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

None of our acrylic tubs are ADA compliant. ADA compliant can mean several things like wheel chair accessible (0" threshold) or able to add a portable seat, things like that.

6030Y1.202 Bath...I plan to use this tub with your 6030Y1.BW surround. Does this tub "require" a mortar bed? Or does it have "feet" (support areas) underneath that allow for leveling?
    Thank you.

  • Q:

The tub when put in place, the drain is dead center on top of the joist below. Is it alright to cut the top of the joist to make room for the drain? The joist is the laminated type made up of ply wood and they are 16" on center.

  • Q:

We are building a 44 unit building and the Architect has specd. the Acrylux tub and surround. We need to make the surrounds adaptable meaning able to mount ADA grab bars to them. Do you make a surround that has fully wood-backed pieces similar to 1 piece fiberglass units that we have used in the past? Also, are these tubs ABS plastic with an acrylic coating and what is the main structure?
Asked on 1/29/2012 by Anonymous from Minneapolis, M.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Our shower walls do not come with a wood backing to mount bars to. They are made of acrylic capped abs backed with sprayed on fiberglass. Thank you.

  • Q:

    Hi

I plan on installing an american standard metallic (enamel finish),to replace an existing american standard metallic tub (25 years old)..The questions I have are

    1) is it a straight switch

    2) would drilling the lip to fasten to wood studs with galvanized screws cause rust in drilled areas or is there another method to secure to wood studs . Thanks
Asked on 1/2/2012 by Joe from toronto, canada

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Although the fit should be close on like size tubs it is our experience that there are no direct swap-outs. There will be work involved.

You do not want to drill through the enamel. It can cause the tub to become damaged or rust. Use a drywall screw and a flat washer to the top of the flange and let the washer catch the flange.

  • Q:

I purchased an Acrylux 60” by 30” tub. The instructions state that the tube is to be bedded in concrete of mortar. The tub is going on a concrete floor that is fairly level. How much concrete do I need to put under this thing? 40-80 lbs? More? Also the instructions state that the horizontal stringers are to be 16 ¾ from the floor. This leaves about 1’ gap to the rim of the tub. Do you know the correct measurements? Thanks Chris
    Asked on 11/7/2011 by Chris

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

We have a 6030Y1 & 6030Y2. The Y2 is an above the floor rough and the stringer height is 18”. The height of the mortar on that tub will be around 2” at the drain end and 3” at the lumbar end. That will require about 2ea 80lb bags of ready mix mortar. Thank you.

how do you repair a scratch in the tub
    Asked on 10/10/2011 by Anonymous

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

With a mild buffing compound or very fine sandpaper (1,000 - 4,000 grit) and then a buffing compound. For more detailed information on this process please call out technical service department at 1-800-442-1902 options 1-1-1. Thank you.

  • Q:

I had a clogged drain and after several attempts to clear it with Drano, Liquid Plummer, etc. I used the old skull & crossbones drain opener which cleared to clog. Well it also bubbled back up into the tub and ruined the finish around the drain of my new tub. Is there anything I can do to make it look better. Replacing the tub is not an option. I'm sick.

  • Q:

We are interested in this tub, however plan to tile the walls surrounding the tub. Does the edge of this tub have extra grooves which require that the acrylux walls are used (as we have seen with some models on display) or is tiling an option? Also, can you tell me how high the hole it for the tripwaste (I think that's what it's called :) Our plumbing is about 13 inches from the ground and we have run it to a few tubs that would require us to move our plumbing to about 17 inches from the ground. Thank you!
