we have an american standard whirlpool tub with a round filter on left side of tub. it doesn't seem to be sucking in very much, how do we clean the filter and the jets so that the filter may have more power to purify the jets and the filter?

  • Q:

Our glass shower door imploded into our 2 1/2 year old colony white tub leaving the tub in places badly chipped and scarred, is there any type of filler that will adhere to the tub to keep it new, and retain its colour where it is damaged.

      A:

There is a patch kit you can purchase from a company called "Kit Industries" 1-800-526-3186. There are also repair agents out there that can patch you to tub new condition. If you call our tech team at 1-800-442-1902 options 1, 1 & 1 we will be happy to recommend someone in your area. They are relatively inexpensive. Thank you.

  • Q:

Does this tub work with the Deep Soak drain?
    Asked on 11/19/2010 by Anonymous

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

      Hello,

Yes, the Deep Soak Drain, model# 1640.305, will work quite well with the Colony 5' bathtub. This is an excellent way to create a deep, spa experience in a moderately priced bathtub.

  • Q:

What is the depth to overflow with (a) a standard drain and (b) the Deep Soak drain?

How does the depth to overflow compare to the Evolution?
Asked on 11/17/2010 by Mom2TwoCats from Texas

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

      Hi Mom2TwoCats,

The maximum water depth on the Colony 5' bathtub installed with the Deep Soak Drain, model# 1640.305, is 16.5". This is over 2" deeper than it would be with a convential drain.

The Evolution 2422V, which is also a 60"x32" model, has a soaking depth of about 18". This is because it has our unique ledge-mounted overflow design and uses our Deep Soak Max Drain, model# 1599.205. Keep in mind that this tub also has a slightly higher step-over.

Both tubs are excellent choices, and I'm sure you will be happy with either one.

  • Q:

pls advise what tub fucet, etc to use with tub.
I also want a wall hanging flexible shower head (metal tube)
I would like to have as few fixtures as nec, so one set of water taps to use for both.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Any of our Bath/shower Kits should work with this tub. When you say you want a flexible shower head, do you mean a hand shower that mounts to the wall instead of a standard showerhead? If that is the case, you should order the items separately as follows: valve only trim, respective rough valve for trim, diverter tub spout, hand shower, shower hose, wall elbow, & hand shower bracket.

  • Q:

I HAVE A TUB THAT LOOKS LIKE THIS BUT IT HAS 6 JETS 2 ON EACH SIDE AND 2 AT LUMBAR AREA MODEL 2675.002 THE BACK 2 JETS DO NOTHING IS THIS SUPPOSE TO BE THAT WAY IF NOT HOW DO I GET TO WORK
Asked on 10/24/2010 by SHARYN from ARKANSAS

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

American Standard does not produce a whirlpool with 6 jets on each side. Most manufacturer’s jets are adjustable. The jets may just need individually adjusted. You can call our whirlpool technical team while at your whirlpool @ 1-800-442-1902 options 1-1-1 and we can help you trouble shoot your jets.
