Comments about American Standard Evolution 5' x 32" Deep Soak Bath Tub:

Very brittle. When srewing the flange to wall the finish chips off and the the tub cracks. It also chips off extremly easy when slidng into place at the floor. Not impressed. We will switch to another brand fom now on.

Comments about American Standard Evolution 5' x 32" Deep Soak Bath Tub:

Excellent value for a soaker tub. Looks quite nice installed. We used an undermount design and the end result is a very good looking tub. Well constructed and enjoyable to use. Had to go with the 5 foot tub, if I had more room, would have wanted a bit more length. [...]

        • Q:

Is the distance between the inside walls where the arm rests are only 1'? Arm rest to arm rest. And, if so, would a rain shower head of 11" work properly in this tub or would it cause splashing against the arm rests?

        • Q:

Can I just have a 1' x 1' access panel on the opposite end of the drain. I have a framing conflict. I am using the 2422L/V with integral skirt. There are 2 access panels on the long skirt for access. Will the access panels on the front and a 1'x1'on the end be acceptable for servicing?
Asked on 2/25/2012 by Peter from Flower Mound, TX

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

The 2422 model tub does not have an integral apron. If you actually have the 2425 model tub which does have the integral apron, the removable panel is sufficient access for the motor.

        • Q:

If I install this as a drop-in with a tile deck around the tub, should the tile be installed first with the tub installed on top of the tile, or should the tub be installed first and then the tile brought up to the edge of the tub?

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

This choice is yours to make. Personally I think it looks much better to set the tub on top of the tile. Make the top of the tile work your finish height. Thank you.

Can you avail a diagram illustrating the location of the electrical components as we are trying to figure out where we will need to create access to the pump etc.

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

The access panel has to be at the short end of the tub opposite the drain a minimum of 2' wade and 1 ' tall. That is where all of the electrical components are. There are no other options for warranty work to be preformed. If you have any further questions please call our whirlpool hotline at 1-800-442-1902 options 1-1-1 so we can properly assist you. • Q:

What is the difference between the Universal Tile Flange "Single" vs. Universal Tile Flange "Bulk"? I don't know which to choose. I will be doing a standard three wall install with tub undermounted to granite slab.

I read the installation/Spec PDF but nothing showed a framing example for undermounting. How can I get this?

            A:

Single is 15' long (Enough for 1 tub). Bulk is 30' and 60' (for distributors to stock on their shelves). Thank you.

            A:

This tub can be used as a tub and shower unit provided you purchase the Universal Tile Flange 751755-100 so you can provide a tiling ledge around the three sides of the tub that will be against the shower walls. After doing that you will either need to build a front for the tub or purchase an Apron front 9261.019. We offer that same style unit with all of this built on to the unit from the factory. It is the 2425V-168C is RH or 2425V268C is LH. Thank you.
