    Will a standard, 50 gallon electric water heater supply sufficient hot water to fill this bathtub?

      A:

      Hi Pat,

      Yes, you should be fine with your 50 gallon electric water heater. The tub holds a maximum of 74 gallons, but with a person in it the maximum is more like 60-65 gallons. A typical bather fills the tub with a mix of hot and cold water, so 50 gallons of hot water should be fine.

      If you like your bath temperature very hot, then you may need to turn up the temperature on your water a heater a bit.

    Wanted to install this with faucet controls and spout mounted on the surround deck on the drain end. Would this be OK and how wide is the built-in faucet deck (in other words, how far will the spout have to reach to go over it)?

      A:

      Hi Ken,

      The Heritage was designed with a flat area at the drain end for exactly what you have in mind, mounting the tub filler. This space is approximately 6" wide at it's widest, and there is ample room for the tub filler. Because this is right on the edge of the tub, the required reach for the spout is minimal, you should be OK with as little as a 6" reach. Longer spouts are fine too.
