    I just returned this Americast tub after the advice of your customer service only to find the other model in stock also does not have a flat even surface where it is supposed to rest on the 2x4 ledger. Should I bend the corners of the tub down, shim up the perfectly straight 2x4, or try a different retailer that may have had their shipment Americast tubs set from a different mold?

    Can you tell me what makes the floor slip-resistant? I.e., is it a grit based substance? And if so, how is it applied or made part of the tub?

      A:

      Steel and Americast bathtubs: This slip resistant surface (enamel frit) is applied on top of the porcelain enamel finish coat in a specific pattern on the sump (botttom) and then fused into the finish at ~1500 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Since this does not come with a drain plug and overflow what kind do I need and what colors do they come in? Are they complicated to install?

      Hi Lynn,

      The Princeton tub will work with most standard drains, but we recommend the Deep Soak Bathtub Drain, 1640.305, which provides a more luxurious soaking experience because it allows the water level to rise over 2" higher than with a standard drain.
