        Please check the stringer again and make sure that it is level. Usually when there is a creaking sound it is due to the stringer not being exactly level. If it is please contact our customer care line at 1-800-442-1902, prompts 1 and 4 for further assistance.

      I am looking at 2770.002, I see where it is intended for a drop-in, can it be used as an alcove tub? If not does American Standard make a porcelain tub that is 66x32x18 or 20, right hand drain for an alcove without a drain and not a whirlpool?

      The Stratford Tub is a 'drop-in' type but I'm interested in using it for a 3-wall alcove application. The tub will be used for both a bath & shower and I'm concerned about water leakage between the deck of the tub and the finished wall.

      I've read the installation instructions, Doc # 791031-100 Rev. H is the one I found. Page 2 of the installation instructions seems to have the only detailed instructions for installation of the MODEL 2470 and it shows the tub rests on a 'Leveling Stringer' 18-3/4" above the floor AND a 'TILE BEAD STRIP'.

      Searching on the web, I found American Standard PN 751755-100: UNIVERSAL TILE BEAD KIT. Is this the part I should use to seal the tub between the wall and the tub deck? Is there a more up-to-date installation instruction I should be using? The instructions I found seem to be (mainly) for Models 2390 & 2391 (page 4 and on). Specifically, should I use the picture of the drain installation of the Model 2390 for Model 2470?

        The 751755-100 Universal Tile Bead Kit is the correct kit to use with this tub. Page 4 on are general guidelines to follow when installing the tub and are not necessarily exclusive to the 2390 and 2391. The installation instructions for the 1583 Universal Drain should be followed.
