    Q: is the flange the same type flange as a floor outlet toilet? what type seal is suggested, is there a special name for it?
    I bought one that's spongy rubber, beveled in one one side, to fit the commode but the joint leeks very bad.

      A:

      This would not be the same as a floor outlet. You would need a 4 inch neoprene gasket for any rear outlet bowl. There is not a specific brand that we would suggest, just would need to be 4 inches. You can get these types of gaskets at any local plumbing supply house.

      A:

      You would use a standard wax seal and the floor flange is measured from the finished wall to the cell of the hole in the floor for the toilet.

      18-1/2" Assuming you need the bowl dimension from the center of the seat attachment holes to the front of the toilet bowl.
