American Standard Brands Partners with The Home Depot Foundation for the Annual Community Building Invitational

American Standard donates WaterSense®-certified plumbing fixtures for Habitat for Humanity homes in San Antonio

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 12, 2010) - American Standard Brands, manufacturer of a wide range of kitchen and bath products, has partnered with The Home Depot Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio (HFHSA) for the 2010 Community Building Invitational on May 18 - 20, 2010.

Last fall, The Home Depot Foundation and Habitat for Humanity International expanded its Partners in Sustainable Building program and is working with 150 Habitat affiliates in 45 U.S. states and Mexico to build 5,000 homes that meet Energy Star® guidelines or a similar nationally recognized green building standard. During the 2010 Community Building Invitational, hundreds of organizations and representatives from the foundation's vendor and partner community will be brought together to transform lives by joining with Habitat for Humanity to build an affordable, efficient home for a deserving family.

"American Standard is proud to work with The Home Depot Foundation to address the critical needs facing our communities today," says Don Devine, president and CEO of American Standard Brands.

American Standard is donating plumbing fixtures for 15 Habitat for Humanity homes in San Antonio, TX. The products, which are all WaterSense®-certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), include the Cadet® 3 Right Height® 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) toilet, the Cadet Single Control 1.5 gallons per minute (gpm) faucet and the Colony® FloWise® 1.5 gpm showerhead.

"WaterSense-labeled products achieve high satisfaction rates from users, while providing significant water savings," said Devine. "In a recent test with 21 homeowners, nearly all reported better performance with their new water savers than they had with their old toilets and faucets.

"This partnership with The Home Depot Foundation and Habitat for Humanity provides us with yet another opportunity to make a positive impact on the community and the environment, and for that we are most grateful," adds Devine.

The Home Depot Foundation's Community Building Invitational is the largest single source of funding for the Foundation's annual programs and operations.

"We are delighted to partner with organizations that make long-term commitments to the overall health of our communities," said Kelly Caffarelli, president, The Home Depot Foundation. "American Standard's numerous contributions are essential to the Foundation's ability to accomplish its goals."
