American Standard Enhances Style Options, Adds Hand Showers for Water-Saving FloWise Line

CHICAGO, IL, GREENBUILD EXPO (November 17, 2010)— American Standard Brands has dramatically expanded its top-rated FloWise® collection of water-conserving bath showerheads, including — for the first time — hand showers, along with an increased assortment of styles in up to five finishes.
By replacing an older showerhead with a FloWise showerhead, a family of four can save approximately 11,000 gallons of water annually. The expanded FloWise line is designed to meet the growing demand for choice in product type and style when it comes to water saving showerheads.
Whether choosing a showerhead or a hand shower, with single-function or three-function capability, the entire FloWise showerhead collection continues to feature the highest rate of water-savings at 1.5 gallons per minute (gpm), without compromising the showering experience.
The water stream through the FloWise showerhead generates a satisfying spray, so that 1.5 gpm feels as powerful as a today’s standard 2.5 gpm shower, while using 40 percent less water. That actually surpasses the new standards for water-saving showerheads, issued recently by the federal WaterSense® program.
The expanded FloWise line encompasses both single-function and three-function models:
- Single-function showerheads and hand showers create a drenching shower with as little as 1.5 gallons of water per minute.
- Three-function showerheads and hand showers offer the 1.5 gpm turbine spray plus two other comfort settings: a full spray and a combination of the full and turbine sprays, both of which consume a maximum 2.0 gpm. With American Standard’s exclusive auto-return feature, the FloWise three-function showerhead automatically reverts to the ultra-water-saving mode of 1.5 gpm every time the shower is turned off.
Available finishes, depending upon the FloWise model, include polished chrome, blackened bronze, polished brass, stainless steel and satin nickel.
