American Standard 'Emphasizes Every Drop Counts' During Fix-A-Leak Week

March 17 Workshop Encourages Residents to "Go Green and Save Green"

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 14, 2010) — American Standard Brands will co-sponsor a free residential leak detection and plumbing workshop in Marietta, Ga. to help mark Fix-a-Leak Week, promoted by the WaterSense^®  program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Held in cooperation with the Cobb County Water System and MUST Ministries of Marietta, the two-hour workshop, “Go Green and Save Green,” — timed to coincide with St. Patrick’s Day — will be held at MUST Ministries, 1407 Cobb Parkway North in Marietta, from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. The workshop, led by Nick Marine of Marine Plumbing, Georgia’s first Certified GreenPlumber^®, is designed to show participants how to check for leaks, and how to install retrofit kits that conserve water and reduce household expenses. As part of the workshop, attendees will receive a free low-flow plumbing kit.

Fix-a-Leak Week – March 14-20, 2011 – encourages Americans to check their plumbing fixtures, as a home’s running toilets, dripping faucets and other household leaks can combine to waste an average of 10,000 gallons of water annually. Nationwide, more than 1 trillion gallons of water leak from U.S. homes each year, according to the EPA.
