    i bought a american standard whirlpool tub that has a 3 in spread. i have not been able to find a faucet to fit. what do you recommend?

      A:

      Hi Meme,

      I suspect that you bought a Lifetime Whirlpool from The Home Depot. This whirlpool has 3 holes drilled on a flat surface that is about 1" lower than the top of the deck. These holes are not for mounting a faucet, they are the overflow holes. When you purchase either the 1599.500 or 1599.205 Deep Soak Drain, there is a decorative flat plate that will cover these holes, and plumbing that connects below them.

      The benefit of this system is that the water can rise 3" higher than with conventional drains, providing a much more luxurious soaking experience.
