  • Q:

I installed a single handle cadet kitchen faucet. The directions didn't say anything about using plumbers putty or silicone so I didn't. Is this correct?

      A:

Plumbers putty or silicone sealant is optional. If the moiunting surface of the sink is flat there should be no issues.

  • Q:

I have an 8115S Cadet Faucet and the drain is getting clogged. I would to remove the pop-up drain, but it won't come out, even when I remove the drain cable connector. What is the best way to clear this drain?

      A:

You must have the Speed Connect Drain with the cable system attached to the drain pipe. You simple turn the handle to the left to unhook the cable, then pop out the cam cap, with your fingers or the flat edge of a screwdriver. Then, you will wiggle the cam assembly around until you can pull it away from the drain pipe. It has a small plastic hook that attaches to the bottom of the stopper. By removing the cam assembly, you can easily pull out the stopper and remove the clog.

Help! No matter what I try my new Cadet Single Control Faucet (8115F 8115SF) leaks. It is the drain - I have taken it apart and installed it 3 times. The leak seems to come from the top portion but who can say for certain. Any tips you can give me will be appreciated.

      A:

Ensure there is not any debris around the area that the gasket contacts. Also check the area for burrs that would prevent the gasket from sealing. If further assistance is required, please call 1-800-442-1902 options 1-4-1.

    • A:

John, try using plumbers putty around the flange instead of the white foam washer that comes with the faucet and make sure that the cone washer is correctly oriented when you tighten the nut.
