    Removed the aerator to allow sediment to clear. When I reinstalled and tested flow, water shot out past the threads on the back side.

      A:

      The threads on either the aerator or the spout may have become cross threaded or the gasket has been distorted. Try removing the aerator, inspect the threads as well as the condition of the gasket and reattach.
