Comments about American Standard Wall Bar Combo Shower System:

I'm a handicapped woman who hated showers because of the heighth of the shower head. This combo system is perfect for us. I use the handshower unit and my husband uses the showerhead. Our fiberglass shower unit has built in seats and I leave the handshower attached to the bar. The heighth is perfect for me, even when I'm seated. Great solution that doesn''t cost a fortune.

Comments about American Standard Wall Bar Combo Shower System:

This is actually the second one I own. The first one leaked at the top connector where the water is diverted. I decided to turn it in and see if this was an isolated problem before passing judgement on it because the design with the control at the bottom is what I wanted and it's the only one like it. Every other diverter is at the top and too high for my shorter wife to use. My second attempt was perfect. The unit works great. I highly recommend it. I'll be adding the same faucet to a second bathroom soon.

Comments about American Standard Wall Bar Combo Shower System:

In theory the best of everything as the diverter switch is located low and reachable to a disabled person in sitting position. However, I attempted to install it in a walk in shower and the unit was too long, landing on the escuhcion covering the water inlet handle. Ideally this would be sold as a diverter system without shower or hand held heads

We moved to an apartment where the Landlord installed this shower.
We love the shower, but it's been just 2 months and the suction cup that holds the bar to the wall lost its suction power.
We need to replace just the suction cup, where can we buy it?
              Thank you! :)

I have a leak around the upper swivel ball fitting. I have the black O ring in the only position it makes mechanical sense. Do you have an exploded diagram of this unit to show sequence of assembly? A version with higher quality cast metal parts instead of plastic is a suggestion.

The first shower unit I purchased leaked at the point where the hand held shower hose connects near the diverter unit when using the hand held shower. When using the regular shower unit it worked fine. I returned the entire shower unit to Home Depot and replaced it with another, only to have the same problem happen. When using the hand held shower exclusively, or, in combination with the regular shower unit, water sprays everywhere. I have made sure to use enough teflon tape and the rubber washer to no avail. I also checked to see that the hose is installed properly. What's the fix??

            • Q:

I purchased this unit for a client and the handheld hose is leaking where the hose is connected to the handheld shower head; there is a white plastic diverter that seems to channel the water sideways; there is a washer and a screened washer inside, but when the diverter is engaged for HH shower only, the water comes gushing out the connector. We tried reversing the ends, but it did not help.
