This toilet does a good job, is the right hieght, looks good, and is easy to clean around; everything the wife wanted. My one concern is the toilet sits close to the wall(good), but will it be a problem for the plumber if the toilet needs maintenance?

I'm very happy with this toliet's flush. Even though it uses very little water, the flush is strong and really cleans out the bowl! I never have to use a cleaning brush. As with other reviewers comments, the seat does get loose once in a while, but you just retighten it. If for not this minor task, I would've given 5 stars. But you won't be dispointed with this toilet!
O'yeah, I just remembered, I do have to hold the lever down a little while in order to drain all the water out of the tank to get a complete flush.

Comments about American Standard Clean High Efficiency Elongated Toilet:

I loved this toilet so much I bought another one for my other bathroom. It has a sleek, narrow tank, which doesn't take up much room, which leaves more room for a wider vanity. It has a quiet, efficient flush. The design of the tank is straight down to the floor, which makes is easy to clean.

          • Q:

Our toilet has started leaking on the bottom right side on the floor. What can cause this? How can this be fixed?
            Asked on 5/5/2012 by Anonymous

            2 answers

            • A:

Could be your wax ring seal is leaking. Try changing the wax ring seal.

Or your supply line or the tank gasket is leaking and the water is dripping and flowing over to the side of the toilet that you see the water on. Try to see or touch those areas for wetness. If it is, then change the supply line or the tank gasket.

Or it could be condensation that is collecting and dripping to the floor. Check sides of tank for any signs of condensation.

Or check for any signs of cracks anywhere around the toilet.

              Good luck

Love the toilet..I really dislike the toilet seat. Does anyone know if thet sell a slow close toilet seat for the round toilet model?

            • CUSTOMER CARE

              A:

Considering the type of installation these seats use, there are only a few selections of seats that are compatible. For a round front with the slow close hinges you would need : 5281.110.020

The toilet seat moves back and forth when closed. It does not wiggle when fully open for the male user. It seems to be moving where the hinge pin base connects to the seat itself. Is there a way to fix/adjust it?

The seat may be tightened by lift the bolt covers and using the allen key that was provided with the seat, tighten firmly.

do you need to hold down the flush lever to get a full flush? I purchased a previous American Standard toilet that had a weighted flapper, and you need to hold down the handle to get a full emptying of the tank.

I have this toilet and it worked great for about two months. Now it will not flush properly (it will not drain on either 1 or 1.9 flushing). It appears to be "stopped up" but using snake and/or plunger is not fixing the problem. Used by two adults so no possible "child involvement". Please help. I bought and installed this as a surprise for my husband and now he's unhappy with it.

This toilet seems to decide all by itself when to fill and when not to fill. It is simply impossible to adjust the Fill Water Valve in order to have it fill more than three time in a row.
The link referenced in earlier e-mail simply does not address the questions asked.
            Incredibly frustrating.
