  • Q:

I need to replace the trip lever on a Compact Cadet elongated right height model #2403. As I look at the toilet, the lever is on the right side, so I assume I need a right hand lever. Please tell me which lever will be the proper fit.

    Thank you

      A:

You will need the 738473-YYY0A handle which is for the 4098 pressure assist tank. Be aware that this is only the handle if you need the brass rod inside the tank, it has a separate number which is 738493-0070A.

  • Q:

Can you give us a website that shows the layout and how to replace this lever? This is the first problem we have had with our toilet so have never had the need to remove lid and investigate workings.

      A:

The trip lever nut is reverse threaded. once the nut removed the trip lever can be removed. Installation is reverse of removal. The spring rod that is located on the top of the vessel extending to the left in the area of the trip lever will rest in the looped portion of the trip lever arm. Unfortunately there is not a detailed document that displays the actual layout of the trip lever and spring rod assembly.

  • Q:

We have 2 American Standard toilets at our office (7 years old), both Trip Levers lasted less than 1 year. Seems like the fittings -copper wire to be exact- are not proper because the trip levers fell off so easily and regularly. Trying to fix them but not sure which Trip Lever to buy...the number stamped on the inside of the tank is 4112 4098. There is also a flushmate gravity tank (M-101526-F3) on the inside that it connects to (sort of).

  • Q:

I have just purchased the Clean Toilet Model #2514101.020. It appears that the seat, wax ring, and flange are included - but not the trip lever. (1) What else must I purchase for my plumber to install this toilet? (2) When looking at the toilet, the trip lever to flush the toilet is considered a right hand lever(?), even though it is on the left side of the tank top visually. Why? (3) The trip lever pictured above is metal (which I want), but is it the most modern one you make for this toilet? Thanks for your response.

      A:

The trip lever should have been included on the tank. If you did not receive it, please call our customer care line at 1-800-442-1902, prompts 1 and 1 and one of our reps will order one for you. If the lever is on the left side as you are looking at it, you want to order a left hand trip lever.
