  • Q:

I have an American Standard Amarilis Jasmine Pressure Balance valve and Trim (model # 3808.602 and 3808.600). My plumber told me it has been discontinued. I think I need the valve replaced. I'm majorly frustrated because in November 2011 he told me that he couldn't find the parts. Bottomline, this isn't that old of a faucet. There has to be something I can do that will not cost me a small fortune to rip out walls and all this other stuff that he is saying because he can't find anything to work. I need help! It's March 2012 and that bathroom shower hasn't been used since November. Please point me in an affordable direction. Could I use the more recent version of the Amarilis Jasmine Bath kit (T808.500)? Please help me.

  • Q:

I am constantly removingt hair from the drain shut off stem (it is a ling rod with a spiral end) is there a way to adjust this part so i dont have to do this monthly?

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

It sounds like you have the old style rotary drain. Unfortunately these can not be adjusted in anyway to prevent hair from getting in the drain. The only thing you can really do to help prevent this, would be to purchase one of the universal strainers for bath tub drains.

  • Q:

The water flow from the bathtub faucet is adequate when cold water is flowing but only a trickle at the hot water setting. I just had a plumber here for 2 hours trying to fix but left unable to do so. What is the problem with this faucet? The diverter spout does not work; so I have a faucet that is inadequate in hot water flow and a shower head that does not work. I have lived with this for several years as we also have another shower; but would like to have this fixed.

      A:

As for the hot water flow, there may be an issue with your pressure balancing unit and should be replaced. To resolve the diverter tub spout issue, it should be replaced. Both items can be ordered under your lifetime warranty by calling 1-800-442-1902 options 1-4-1

  • Q:

I just installed this valve and the homeowner states that if you turn the handle all the way to the left it is cold. He states that the hot and cold are reversed. I know in other brands you just have to switch the cartridge around, is this the same for your brand?
Asked on 6/16/2011 by Dennis from CT

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

This particular cartridge is not able to be flipped or changed as it would cause the handle to be pointing up rather than down. To fix this problem you will need a back-to-back cartridge to reverse the water. You can call the warranty / technical line at 1-800-442-1902 option 1-4-1 to order this cartridge.

  • Q:

Most single control shower faucets I've seen only allow change of temperature, not of volume. I regard that as a serious flaw, and have a faucet I want to replace for that reason. In a recently-remodeled motel, I saw an American Standard single control faucet that rotated for temperature change, and lifted for water volume change. The Amarilis Jasmine looks much like that faucet, but I can't tell from the description whether it really controls both functions. Does it? If not, can you identify the American Standard product that does?

This trim kit is for volume and temperature control. The rough valve that is needed is the R120 series valve.

What is the best way to clean this shower head, opening up the nozzles like they were when new?

I would suggest soaking it in vinegar. Vinegar will dissolve the calcium and lime build up.

  • Q:

my house was roughed in with the 3375 cadet b&s faucet wich i believe is the R120 rough in kit.my problem is that the cadet faucet does not come in brushed nickel or brushed stainless.i was wondering if there is any faucet handles that will fit the R120 rough in that come in brushed nickel or stainless.the other thing is that my shower is a 2 handle system one for hot and one for cold. i appreciate your help thanks.
    Asked on 2/10/2011 by Anonymous

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The question is referencing two entirely different items. The R120 is a single handle only valve. You most likely have a 3275 Cadet, which is a two handle shower set, there is no trim available separately in Satin Nickel for this.

I have a 3808.500 series pressure balancing shower set and the valve seems to be worn (as determined by a leaky shower head with the value in the off position). How can I get a parts kit to repair this problem?
