  • Q:

    My shower valve doesn't produce any water in the cold position. I am therefore stuck with hot water only (no cold water mix). Is there an adjustment or other trick which will open the cold side?

      A:

      This trim kit is for use with a volume and temperature control (R120) valve. Volume is controlled by pulling upward and temperature is controlled by turning to the left or right. There is a hot limit stop on the cartridge itself which will limit the handle rotation to the hot side. If you get no cold water whatsoever, you should contact the warranty / technical line at 1-800-442-1902 option 1-4-1 to receive warranty parts to fix this problem.

    After rough installation of R120 valve, it tested fine with no drips. After a few days, installed trim. Now getting slow drip from shower head when valve turned off. Drip seems to be increasing in frequency as time goes on

      The rough valve pressure balance valve you are looking for is the R120 series. The Copeland uses this valve but if you are looking for others, you can type in R120 in the search box and see all the trims that work with that valve.

      When testing the function of this valve, both the hot and cold water supplies must be turned on. Otherwise there will be no flow.If there continues to be no flow with both supplies turned on, please contact us at 1-800-442-1902 Option 1, Option 1, Option 4 to order a replacement pressure balance unit.
