  • Q:

Our hot water is not coming out very hot, it is not the water, it is hot in the sink. We are having trouble with the red ring. Can we just remove it? Or do we want it on zero?
    Asked on 10/5/2011 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The red ring is the hot limit stop, it limits the handle rotation, putting the ring on setting 0, allows the handle rotate to it's full open position and will allow more hot water through the valve.

  • Q:

I just installed the Symphony Pressure Balancing Bath and Shower trim kit: I wanted to check for leaks and service. So I have cut in the cold water side first. I have no hot water side at this time. With out hot water going through the lines. I have turned on the cold. But no cold water comes out. Why? If I remove the controls Cartouche water will come out when I turn on the supply. When I put the cartouche back on I get no water.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

This unit has a anti-scald pressure balance unit. You must have water pressure to both the hot and cold side for the valve to work correctly.

  • Q:

we're working on putting up all new walls for our bathtub and just bought the Symphony (model number 4501) and wondering how and where to position it in relation to the cement board we are about to put up. The instructions are confusing in regards to the "plaster guard". Does the plaster guard need to be flush with the finished wall, behind it or do we not need to use it at all? What does it mean "For proper positioning, the finished wall must be within side wall of plaster guard?"
    Asked on 8/18/2011 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

SInce you are using a cement board it would not be necessary to use the plaster guard.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

If the hot is on the left and the cold is on the right, there is really no reason for this to be occurring. Perhaps the cartridge shipped with the product is incorrect. Please call 1-800-442-1902 options 1-4-1 for further assistance.

This unit was installed a couple of days ago. I've noticed a constant drip from the spout when lever is shut off. I'm in the process of replacing the cartridge and the pressure balancing unit. Is there any possibility that the manifold could cause the dripping during shut off.
