Comments about American Standard Champion 4 Slow Close Toilet Seat:

We installed the Champion Slow Close Toilet Seat in our kids bathroom. Not only is our bathroom quieter with no slamming when my kids open and close the toilet seat now, but it is also safer. With 2 kids under 5, it is essential to look out for their safety at every turn, especially in the bathroom. As kids learn to use the toilet themselves, with a regular toilet seat, they could slam their fingers or worse by the seat. I love that convenience, comfort, and Safety of this slow close seat by American Standard. Read my full review on [...] website. My review was that of my own experience, thank you American Standard for the review items for my blog.

Thank you for your questions about the toilet seat. We do not stock older model toilet seats, but we can recommend Bemis Manufacturing, the company that makes our seats, and may have a replacement for you. You may contact them at 1-800-558-7651 or visit their website at www.bemismfg.com. Also, you may try their partner company, Church Seats, at www.churchseats.com or 1-800-233-7328.

Producut question regarding American Standard No. 5325.010.222 Linen Elongated Slow Close Toilet Seat. Is the under side of this seat a solid flat surface or is it a concave molded design which would be more difficult to clean? Also, are the hinges plastic rather than metal hinges which came on our Champion 4 Model Toilet? Trying to avoid the metal hinges in that they corroded very quickly on the new toilet. Thanks for your assistance.

I think I have a Champion 4 toilet but cant be sure. Can you identify it anywhere on the toilet? I have purchased toilet seats marked elongated that are too short for the toilet. Is this seat longer than a normal elongated seat. I have to buy 3 of them and I want to make sure it is the right one.

The champion 4 uses any standard elongated toilet seat. You can locate a model number on the inside of the tank. It will be a 4 digit number that starts with either a 2 or a 4. If you need further assistance please contact customer service at 1-800-442-1902.

You will need to remove the seat by rotating the knobs on the back, the seat will then pull straight up exposing the attachment screws.

              • Q:

I have a 1951 vintage AS toilet with a stamp M52 under the tank lid. I'd describe the color as a shade of 'pink'. The tank lid front edge isn't straight across, so I'm having trouble finding a seat that will open fully. Most round seat covers are about 14" across, and it seems like the toilet seat cover for this toilet shouldn't be larger than 12.5" in width. Do you still make a seat that will fit this toilet? If so, what colors are available?
