    I really liked this toilet seat when I first got it. The slow close hinge is fabulous, that I love. The wood seat is very nice and a perfect color to match my toilet. I have 2 problems with this seat. The hinge is becoming seriously discolored and beginning to flake. I clean a lot and it is still nasty. I bought 3 of these seats for my bathrooms and they are all doing the same thing to varying degrees. The 2nd thing is the plastic stoppers on the bottom of the seat are cracking. We are not a large family.
    I would recommend getting a non metal hinge.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    The white American Standard Champion 4 toilet bowl
    has to use an A/S toilet bowl seat because any other seat would not match the same shade of white.
    I would have given it a 5 star if it were not for the set up. On the left side the screw is so far up you just about can get a nut on it . The shape of the toilet is what stops it. You have to get on the floor and lay down to see it. Very bad design. But when it is finished it looks and works GREAT!!! My hands were to big to reach up and screw it on so my wife did it, And she said IT WILL NEVER EVER BE TAKEN OFF AGAIN!!!!

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      this was so easy my 15 year old son installed it. he wanted the slow closed and i wanted wood. it was hard to find. this is a great product at a great price. it looks nice and closes nice and slow. nicer than all the other ones i currently have in my house, those are all kohler.

          I have an 18 year old American Standard one piece toilet with the only identifying number on the inside of the tank stamped as 264-2031. I cannot find a replacement seat anywhere. The dimentions of the existing seat are as follows; 15" width from edge to edge at the widest point of the seat side. It is an oval seat. From the middle of the back hinge hole to the longest part of the front edge of the seat is 16 1/2-17". It measures is 9 1/2" from the start of the right back straight edge to the the left edge, and 5 1/2" between the center of the attachement pin holes. The hinge pins are separate and the seat is secured to the toilet in the traditional manner. I have exhausted all local resources, and hope you can refer me to a store that can procure this item for me. There is no chance that the toilet will be replaced as it is part of a professionally restored room. I must find an acceptable replacement seat. Thank you for your time and assistance with this matter.
