Comments about American Standard Cadet 3 Right Height Elongated Complete Toilet:

We replaced all 3 toilets in our house after one leaked and caused damaged. This Cadet 3 is the best priced toilet in it's class. Very quiet flush and quick fill. Easy to install and no problems! Really like the chair-height, elongated bowl. Old toilet felt like sitting on a little stool.

Comments about American Standard Cadet 3 Right Height Elongated Complete Toilet:

This was one of 3 different toilets that I installed. I originally purchased it because it was a little taller than a standard toilet. I thought this would come in handy during my golden years as it became harder to get up from a low seat. Btw, I am around 5'6" tall. However, as it turns out, the toilet sits about an inch taller than I expected (after installation and seat installed). This was originally going to be for my master bathroom but I ended up just moving it to the guest bathroom (for the comfort of my taller guests).

Installation was a breeze and I like that everything was included. The nuts for attaching the seat were so easy to use (some might not like that they are made of plastic but I didn't have any problems).

The toilet flushes well but my only complaint is that toilet paper left towards the front of the bowl will not go down unless given two flushes.

Overall, I like the product and it looks great too!

This toilet is used in the guest bathroom. But i find that I like using it all the time. I just works so well and uses so little water and is quiet. I can't think of a bad thing to say about it. When we ahve to replace the toilet in the master bath it will be this type for sure. Thank you for a great product.

Replaced a home center generic toilet that needed a plunger every other use. The plunger has been in the basemnant since, even with teenagers in the house.
I have recommended to friends who are all equally delighted and bought another Cadet 3 when I built a new bathroom. Great product - it works!

Comments about American Standard Cadet 3 Right Height Elongated Complete Toilet:

I have 3 cadet elongated toilet complete kits. Each one is separated by 1-2 years. Each one flushes different, and the last one has a different tank shape. The last toilet flush is the best, and quietest. Installation has always been easy. My last install on a newly tiled master bath, raised the level of the floor over an inch, requiring me to obtain longer toilet bowl mounting bolts, and add an additional 1/2" wax ring. I do like the previous tank shape best; the distance from the wall is increased with the new tank. It is totally unbelievable how efficient and clean the flush is when truly loaded with solid waste. The champion may flush 12 golf balls efficiently, but for the additional cost I don't think the extra money is worth it, because of the great flush the Cadet performs. After all, I don't think I will be flushing golf balls down the drain, because I will trust American Standard's review that you actually can do it, and besides that, the cost of the golf balls is high. Great Toilet - Great Engineering. No fancy surface changes, just fancy engineering changes, internal to the toilet, that no one sees, but the end quality of flush, that everone sees.

            • Q:

We have 2 bathrooms next to each other, both with cadet 3's installed. When we flush our master bath toilet, the toilet in the other bathroom begins to run, pouring water from the tube into the overflow valve. This only happens when we flush the neighboring toilet. The only way to stop the running toilet is to flush it. Any ideas for how to resolve this?

you might be experiencing some water hammer issues. try installing a water hammer arrestor. an arrestor should be installed just before the water reaches the last fixture of the service or branch line. in this case, try to install the arrestor inbetween the water service for the two water closets. see if this helps

Bought the Cadet 3 about 2.5 mos ago - worked great for the first month, recently noticed it kept filling off and on all day - put some dye in, got color in the bowl so I called CS. I just replaced the flapper and the toilet is still running and leaking at the flapper...what other adjustment do I have to make?

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

The only adjustment that you can make, is you want to make sure that the chain is tight, but not lifting the flapper slightly. If the chain has enough slack (but not too much), then the only possibility is an issue with the flapper or flush valve. If this is the case, you should contact customer service at 1-800-442-1902, and request that they send you the entire flush valve with the flapper.

I recently purchased an American Standard Cadet 3 and paid a man to install the toilet. It has not flushed correctly since installation. It frequently will not flush, when it does flush water runs out of the bowl so that there is only a small amount left in it. We hear water occasionally running in the tank. The installed came and checked and could find nothing wrong. Please help.

Thank you for your comments on toilet seats on the Total Toilet package. Generally, the toilet packages do not come with toilet seats and the seats are sold separately. The seats that are part of the Total Toilet package are created for consumers who are looking for an economical package. This allows consumers to install the entire tank and bowl complete with seat and wax ring. These seats are complimentary seats and are included for marketability purposes.
