Comments about American Standard H2Option Siphonic Dual Flush Round Front Toilet:

I replaced two toilets in my home with these. I am more than certain the water savings will make up the cost pretty quickly. I've had them almost a year and they are still working great - no problems with the buttons for flushing at all.

Comments about American Standard H2Option Siphonic Dual Flush Round Front Toilet:

We have only one bath for a family of four, so it has to perform well. A friend has this toilet, and recommened it. Easily installed it myself after dinner one night. Love the dual flush feature from an environmental standpoint, and also as a better fit for a septic system. I find the low water use button handles most needs, and don't really use the standard flush. Have had it for a month with no problems. Flushes clean, no leaks, hasn't clogged, refills quickly. Would highly recommend.

            • Q:

I noticed awhile after a flush that the water level in the bowl lowers (to about 7w x 8h) I noticed in other toilets the average is (8w x 9h). Is there any way to retain the higher water level?

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

Thank you for your questions on your toilet. The mysterious draining bowl can be checked by doing certain test. If you take a 3-gallon bucket of water, and slowly add the water, until the water level stays the same, mark the inside of your bowl with a grease pencil or crayon. Check the tank in an hour and see where the level of the water is. You may reach a place where the water may settle about 1/4"-1/2" from the mark, and that is fine. If the water has gone down significantly, then there may be a problem with a leak in the bowl somewhere.

Be sure that you do not flush any other toilets in the house during the same time. You may have another toilet that is causing the problem by stealing the water from this toilet. Very often we see that the water lines must have a separate drain into the outlet drain when installing a high-pressure toilet. The venting required for a high-pressure toilet will cause extra suction to drain the bowl of another toilet in the house. Back to back installations of toilets require a "Y" connection to prevent this problem. In two-story houses, the pressure assist toilet should be installed with a separate drain line leading to the common drain, or have a larger pipe to prevent the suction from taking the water from the other toilet. Also in some flat-level installations, if the two lines meet at a 90 degree drain, and not a "Y" drain, the one toilet will suck the water from the other toilet.

If this is not the case, and the bowl drains on its own, you may have a leak in the bowl. This is a problem that cannot be diagnosed over E-mail, but you will need to talk to a customer service representative. You may call Technical Customer Service at 1-800-442-1902, and then press option 1 for Consumer, then option 1 for Technical Support. I just measured it - 30 3/4" but mine is the comfort height model, the top of the seat (not the lid) is 17 3/8". See my review - this is one of the few low volume toilets that works really well.

What seats match this toilet? Does the champion slow close front fit? Also, I received the toilet, and it is not truly white, could I have gotten a "linen" toilet instead in a white box? The toilet is not as white as my Kholer tub.

I had it installed in July as part of a complete bathroom renovation. It worked fine for a couple of months, but now after I flush (it does not matter for what type of waste; liquid or solid) the water continually runs. I tried adjusting the top of some black lever that is in the tank, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thank you
