    I bought a beautiful 49 inch sand granite silkstone vanity top but it came with no care instructions. All I have found is a reference that silkstone is a bit more durable than regular cultured marble or composite products. Hope it wears well.

      Is silkstone as scratchable as cultured marble? I use daily saltwater irrigations and worry that the bowl will pit from the saltwater or spilled salt on the countertop. Is cleaning with Dow Scrubbing Bubbles ok?

        A:

        For day-to-day cleaning, wash with warm water, a soft cloth and a mild detergent such as Mr. Clean or Lestoil. On extremely stubborn stains use one of the powdered detergents, such as Spic & Span on a damp sponge Never use abrasive scouring powders, cleaners or pads as they tend to create microgrooves that dull the finish and allow dirt to work into the surface.
