      I purchased a Cadet 6'X36" whirlpool. I plan on installing it in an alcove. I've purchased the apron kit and a roman faucet for the tub. My plan is to drill the tub deck to install the roman faucet. However, the installation instructions imply that a deck mounted faucet is for platform installations. Do you see any problems with using a deck mounted roman faucet with an alcove installation?

        There isn't allot of room to drill the deck of this tub but if you can find room and the drain connection or whirlpool pipes do not interfere with the supply lines to the faucet you can drill the tub using a carbide tipped hole saw with a pilot bit.

      We've had this tub for about 5 years now, and love it. We've since moved, and that house is now our rental. The pump makes noise, but moves no water. I think it was turned on with the tub empty. Where / how do we obtain a new pump, and who should install it? Can a local plumber do that, or do we need someone from American Standard? Any suggestions / help would be appreciated.

      We seldom use the jets in our tub, but it is used for baths quite often. Mold develops around the jets and is very difficult to clean. I can't seem to find a brush that is small enough to get at those hard to reach places. The only way to get them clean is to take them out which is also difficult since no tool was provided with the purchase of the tub. I use a screw driver to turn the nuts that hold the jets in place and am slowly destroying them because metal tools and plastic parts do not mix well. Is there any way to get the area around the jets clean without taking them out?

      After my tub is filled, I turn on the jet motor and it takes a long time before the motor is primed and the jets function. I can loosen the top cupping that enters the motor breaking the seal and it will start right away.
