Comments about American Standard Evolution 6' x 36" EverClean Whirlpool:

We had this tub professionally installed in 2008 during a remodel, so I can't comment on the installation process. It's been 3 1/2 years and the tub is still like new.
I'm more of a shower person, but after using it I must say this tub is fabulous. The jets are adjustable in air flow and direction to personalize it for your comfort. If you prefer to soak without the jets off, the tub is extra deep to keep you warm. Our grandkids love to bathe/play in it. It's so big they think its a pool. The best part: the affordability. We love this tub. :)

I looked for a long time and finally settled on this model for two reasons: coating on pipes; heater. The adjustable jets are an added bonus.

I am remodeling by bathroom and want to get a whirlpool tub. How
well sealed are they around the jets and the pump connections. A
friend of mine tells me they leak. I have made a large access panel on one side and I was planning to get a tub with a removeable skirt. Am I covered?

We have had this tub for 3 1/2 years and it has never leaked. In my opinion, if you get it, you won't be sorry.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

You need to do a complete water on the tub after you set it in place and before you wall it in to check for leaks that may have occurred from shipping or handling. Once that has been done and rectified if necessary and if the tub is installed according to the installation instructions you do not have to worry about the tub leaking.

We bought a 5'x 36' whirlpool by american standard and installed it approx. 1 year. My questions is about a smell coming from it. How do we get rid of the smell? Should we run clorox though it or some other type of cleaner?

      • Q:

We have owned this tub for about 5 years and we are very satisfied with the tub and its operation. Our only complaint is cleaning around the jet openings. The cleaning operation listed in the owners manual does not clean the scum which collects on the backside of the flow adjustment plates. The owners manual does not expain how to take them off in order to clean there. Can these disk come off for ceaning? We are tired of using a tooth brush and rag in order to get this area clean.
        thank you for your help

What is the minimum size for the drain cut out in the floor. The spec sheet shows 11" to the centerline of the drain and 14" overall for a cut out. I am wondering if I can get away with 13"? There is a beam in the floor that cannot be cut.
