Husband wanted this tub. I didn't really want a whirlpool but use it a lot, especially in winter or when I am not feeling well. Great way to warm up! Love that the heater keeps the water consistently warm durings a long bath. One problem is that the access panel is a different plastic (not the tub acrylic) than the tub and has yellowed over 6 years.

Tested tub twice before install. no leaks, seems well constructed. Only issue I had was installing the recomended overflow drain kit(599 series). I seems hole cutout on top of tub was too close to edge. This required filing downn overflow to make good seal.

Q:
I am trying to determine the lip length on the left side of the tub. The specifications does not have this measurement, only the full width (32") of the tub. I am trying to determine what length faucet I can purchase to fit over lip into tub. The faucet will be installed in the tile around the drop in tub and not through the acrylic tub itself.

We cannot do a "drop in" install for this tub. Can we use this in a three wall alcove? We would have to have a tub that has an apron front. Does this have an apron front?

Q:
I am about to purchase an Everclean 5x32 IA and would like to know if the standard access panel through the front apron is enough to access and maintain the pump if necessary or is another access panel for the pump 'strongly recommended.' The wall behind where the pump would be located is the second story of a 2 story vaulted living room and it would not be easily accessible or a pleasant place to add an access panel.

  Yes, just do not turn the jets back on until the tub has been drained and filled with clean water. Also be careful of some of the aroma therapy oils. We know "oil of clove" & "oil of cinnamon” can harm the acrylic surface. Thank you 1-800-442-1902 options 1, 1 & 1

Q:
I am considering a model 2472L/V (60x32) from Home depot. My issue is access to the pump. Our tub/shower alcove is boarded by a stairwell on the left and a garage attic on the right where the existing drain/supply lines are located. You can assess these through the attic. Is there a model that would provide pump access from the front?

Also, the spec sheets online do not seem to indicate where the heater would be mounted.

We ran the jets with bubble bath probably 6-8 times last year. Just finding out now we shouldn't have done that. Of course it no longer works. What should be replaced?

Q:
Considering an American Standard EverClean whirlpool for our bath remodel, but concerned about the "requires setting in a bed of mortar" requirement. We live in a small cabin, up on stilts...our subfloors are plywood, floor joists are 2 x 10, any access to the motor has to be from the long (front) side. How on earth would you put a bed of mortar on a wood subfloor? Can you recommend a 5 ft right-draining model that would just sit in the alcove opening without this "mortar bed" requirement?
