The water runs and will not shut off.
Here's what happened: when you press on the push button actuator, it pushes down on the cartridge, which starts the flush. When the flush cycle is complete, the cartridge comes all the way back up to its original height. However, in your tank, the push button activator is so low that it prevents the cartridge from rising all the way, which prevents the flush cycle from completing.
- Loosen the setscrew (this may be located on the side or on the top of the actuator) and turn the actuator clockwise approximately half a rotation. The actuator should go down.
- Replace the tank lid.
- If it starts running again, repeat step 1.
- Flush the toilet.
- Does it flush properly?
