Children's Toilet Offers High Efficiency Performance and Easy Access for Small Users
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (July 17, 2012) —The new Madera Youth FloWise flushometer toilet from American Standard offers specifiers a high efficiency 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) children’s toilet that meets the 2012 Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) for ages 5 through 12, in addition to the 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
Designed to comply with accessibility standards for two different age groups — 5 through 8 years old and 9 through 12 years old — this small toilet for children has a 14” floor-to-rim height that allows schools to cover both age groups with a single toilet bowl. In addition, this low consumption school toilet provides educational institutions the flexibility of using either a 1.28 gpf or 1.6 gpf flush volume.
Engineered to deliver a powerful flush, the Madera Youth high efficiency toilet (HET) uses direct-fed siphon jet action and a 2-1/8-inch fully-glazed trapway to effectively clear the bowl usingjust 1.28 gpf, which is 20 percent less water than standard 1.6 gpf models.
Boasting one of the best selling commercial toilet designs in North America, the floor-mount Madera Youth toilet is available in a comfortable elongated configuration designed to fit either a10- or 12-inch rough-in.
Increasingly, municipal codes are requiring the use of HETs in all new construction projects to conserve water and energy. Beginning in 2014, high efficiency toilets will be mandated in such water-conscious states as Texas and California.
